How many squares can you get from a fat quarter?

How many squares can you get from a fat quarter?

All quilters have been there...how much fabric do I really need for this project? We either buy too little or too much.  But our friends at Art Gallery Fabrics have come up with some brilliant cheat sheets for quilters to refer to.

Art Gallery Fabrics are based in America where they still cut their fabric in yards so these numbers are based on a fat quarter of a yard which roughly works out at 18" x 22" or in metric terms 45cm x 55cm.

Most of our fat quarters in the shop are cut from a metre so their measurement is 50cm x 56cm which equates to roughly 19" x 22" so not a lot of difference.

I hope you find this useful - I know I will! Keep an eye on our new blog posts as we are going to be posting more useful reference information in the future.
